On October 4, 2012 a regular meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church took place in the Patriarchal and Synodal Office in St. Daniel’s Monastery under the chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
The Synod reviewed a number of issues related to foreign institutions of the Moscow Patriarchate and made a number of decisions, one of them is related to the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada.

a message of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill regarding dioceses and parishes abroad.
DECIDED:
to dismiss priest Anthony Filchak from the clergy of the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada and to forward him to the disposal of His Blessedness Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine.
