Very Reverend Father Sergey Kiprianovitch completes his pastoral service in Canada

A quarterly meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church was held on May 14.2018. In accordance with the request from the Rector of St. Barbara’s Cathedral in Edmonton, in relation to the termination of his assignment as cleric of Patriarchal Parishes in Canada; to release Archpriest Sergey Kiprianovitch from his duties and send him to the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russ for reassignment (Journal # 41).

Archpriest Sergey Kiprianovitch had been placed under the authority of the one responsible for Patriarchal Parishes in accordance to a decision of the Holy Synod on October 6th 2006 (Journal # 107) and arrived in Canada on Febuary 3rd, 2007.

Fr. Sergei will be serving his last Liturgy in our Cathedral on June 24th. There will be a farewell banquet after the Divine liturgy.

Bishop Iov, deacon Andrei, all clergy, Church board and members of Patriarchal Parishes wholeheartedly thank Archpriest Sergey and Matushka Vera for their diligent service in our cathedral and we prayerfully ask God to help them in future service!
