On September 25, 2018, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Onuphriy, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, which took place in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine, His Grace, Bishop Job (Smakouz) was appointed as bishop of Shumsk, a vicar bishop of the Ternopil Diocese and the new rector of the Pochaiv Theological Seminary.
Before, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, under the chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, which took place in the city of Yekaterinburg, Russia, On July 14, 2018, His Grace, Bishop Job of Kashira, was released from his duty as the administration of the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada according to his personal petition, and was blessed to continue his archpastoral ministry within the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Patriarch and the Holy Synod express their deep gratitude to His Grace Bishop Job for many years of his archpastoral work on Canadian soil.
The clergy and the faithful of the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada once again wholeheartedly thank His Grace, Bishop Job for his diligent service as the ruling Bishop and administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada for 13 years, for his spiritual guidance and leadership and prayerfully wish him good health, spiritual joy and blessed success in his new archpastoral service in Ukraine.
