With the Blessing Iov, Bishop of Kashira: Donations for the restoration of the church in Ukraine
Dear all,
My Mom’s spiritual father (Father Ilya) is a rector of the church of Epiphany (Bogoyavlenskiy Xram) in the suburbs of Kharkiv, Ukraine. The church was closed and significantly destroyed during Soviet times. For a few years already, Father Ilya has been working on restoration of this church. He has done some really good work, in particular, replaced the roof, put in doors and windows, fixed the dome, put up the cross, and built the altar. The first Divine Liturgy was served in the church on Easter this year. However, a lot of work still needs to be done (putting in heating, electricity systems, restoration of the main floor, the walls, etc.). He does not receive any financial help from the Moscow Patriarchate towards restoration of this church and has to rely on limited help from random sponsors. Please see attached pictures for what the church used to look like, and what has been already done.
If you would like to support this project by donating any amount of money towards restoration of this church, please let me know. My Mom will be going back to Kharkiv on August 4, 2016 and will be able to take money for Father Ilya with her. Please feel free to pass this message to anyone who you think might be interested. Any help will be valuable and greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Masha
