On July the 1st the Annual Family Picnic, dedicated to Canada Day celebration, the 31st one, took place at St. Barbara Cathedral’s Church Hall after the evening service.
Matins and Vespers were lead by the Rector Father Igor Kisil, co-served by the Orthodox IX Parishes priest Evgeny Protsenko and the archdeacon Andrei Boldireff.
The Brotherhood of St. Barbara’s Cathedral prepared and cooked a wonderful supper, with a lot of delicious dishes and a special ‘Happy Canada Day’ cake, and a lot more sweets for children.
A lot of people, the parishioners, friends and guests, came to share the meal, that was preceded by the singing of ‘O Canada’ hymn and ‘Our Father’ prayer.
Amazing and joyous piano music sounded in the hall.
We had another happy opportunity to give some support to the refugee families from Ukraine.
The sense of community and friendship was the spirit of our festive gathering, for which we are very much grateful to all who organized and graciously served it!
Special thanks to to John Prokopuk and his family, Paul Lambotte and Matushka Natalia. And to Cole Prokopuk – for the piano delight.
