On August 22, Bishop of Kashira Iov, Administrator of Patriarchal Parishes in Canada, celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Apostle James located near Mundare.
In his sermon Vladyka drew the attention of the worshippers to the importance of the Evangelic parable about evil vinedressers. In particular, His Grace Iov stressed the importance of cultivating a kind vineyard in our souls which is achieved by penance and fulfilment of God’s commandments.
The Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes also thanked the parish council for invitation to head the Divine Service on that day and wished happy birthday to the treasurer of the church Bob and his wife Sofia Koroluk.
On that day three more members joined the parish of St. Apostle James. On the eve they were baptized by the rector of the church priest George Sergeev. The new members are Ling (Chmilar) originally came from China and her two sons Keven and Calthen.
After the Divine Liturgy there was annual traditional picnic and a concert where Ukrainian, Russian and North-American folk songs and compositions were performed by the quintet of musicians with participation of parishioners Bill Darichuk and Alona Sergeeva.
