2010 was another successful year for Bible camp!

On July 18-24, 2010 at Camp BAR-V-NOK on Pigeon Lake, there was a six-day Children’s Orthodox Bible Camp for 31 children, which was very successful. Our campers gathered together in order to commune with each other, to pray together, to have Bible studies, sports, activities, crafts and a good rest. Morning and evening prayers were also conducted each day in the camp’s Orthodox chapel.

The clergy of the Patriarchal Parishes provided catechism throughout the week.

The staff and the counsellors supervised a team of parents and grandparents who volunteered to cook meals and implement a daily routine of exercise, chores, crafts, swimming and other activities for the kids.

On the last day of camp Divine Liturgy was conducted by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Egorovsk, Administrator (Head) of the Department of the foreign institutions of the Moscow Patriarchate, His Grace Bishop Job of Kashira, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada, V. Rev. Igor Kisil, Priest of the “Orthodox 9” Parishes, Rev. George Sergeev, Priest of the “Orthodox V” Parishes and Rev. Constantine  Stepanov, Deacon of Holy Trinity Church in Choroshovo, Moscow. The Liturgy was conducted in the Church which is located at the camp. All the campers and staff were present as well as many parents, grandparents and guests.

We would like to express our special thanks to the staff, counsellors, to those individuals who organized the crafts and sporting activities, and to those people who had donated money, food and time and came out to help and make our camp successful.

Great organization together with good campers and hot, sunny weather made camp 2010 one of the best yet!
