May 21, 2015 – His Grace, Bishop Iov, led the service in honor of the Holy Ascension at Skaro.

The solemn service at the Ascension church with a procession and blessing of water, was made on the day of the Holy Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ at Skaro.

During the service, Vladyka made cheirothesia (ordination) of the President of the Orthodox V, Kim Lopushinsky, into a reader (http://orthodoxwiki.org/Reader). Thus, Kim continues the spiritual succession of his father, who gave many years to the service of the Church of Christ as diak (church cantor (Gr. Πρωτοψάλτης (the protopsaltes) – “first of the singers”) – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantor_%28church%29). On behalf of all, we wish him a long life, abundant graces and blessings of God in carrying this important and responsible worship.

After the Divine Liturgy, a procession around the church with the blessing of water moleben was performed. In his word, Vladyka thanked all the participants and congratulated the parish on the bright day of the Ascension of the Lord, and said that it is imperative in this day to follow the example of the Apostles, who after the Ascension were attending the temple, being in constant prayer and praise to God.
