On April 1, 2019, at the age of 86 years, the honorary rector of the Parish of the Protection of the Kazan Mother of God in Ottawa Mitred Archpriest Dimitri Sever fell asleep in the Lord.

The burial service for the newly departed Archpriest Dimitri will take place on Wednesday evening, April, the 3d at 6:30 pm in the Pokrovsko-Kazan Church of  Mother of God in Ottawa.

On Thursday, April, the 4th, the funeral service of father Dimitri will begin at 10:00 am in the temple the Pokrovsko-Kazan Church of Mother of God in Ottawa. The funeral will take place at the Pinecrest cemetery, Ottawa.
